About Me
My name is Jessica Orozco-Barajas, and I am a bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California with over 14 years of clinical experience. I specialize in comprehensive immigration evaluations, trauma-informed care, and neurodiversity-affirming therapy for autistic and ADHD clients.
As a first-generation Latina and mother of two children on the autism spectrum, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to my work. My background has shaped my deep commitment to providing compassionate, culturally sensitive, and affirming care for individuals and families navigating complex emotional, cultural, and systemic challenges.
My Journey
As a first-generation Latina, I understand the systemic barriers that many communities face when accessing mental health services. Growing up in an underserved community inspired me to pursue this work, beginning with early intervention services for children and families, and eventually completing my Master’s in Clinical Psychology at Pepperdine University.
My personal journey as a mother of two autistic children has further deepened my passion for supporting both immigrant communities and neurodivergent individuals and families. These life experiences fuel my advocacy and my dedication to creating a therapeutic space that is affirming, inclusive, and empowering.
Therapeutic Approach
My approach to therapy is holistic, strength-based, and integrative. I believe in treating the whole person — recognizing the interconnectedness of thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and cultural context. I tailor each treatment plan to meet the unique needs of my patients, drawing from evidence-based practices including:
